The first China TV Series Conference kicked off in Xiamen city of Fujian province on June 5 and was attended by members of the industry and audiences from China and abroad.

The event was aimed at exploring ways to produce high-quality TV dramas and driving the development of the Chinese TV dramas.

Hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration and the Fujian provincial government, and organized by the China Federation of Radio and Television Associations, the Fujian publicity department, the Fujian Provincial Administration of Radio and Television and the Xiamen government, the conference also served as a platform for discussions about matters like publicity, resource aggregation, scientific and technological application, and industry-university-research collaboration in the Chinese TV drama industry.

Themed "Singing in the New Era, Shining in the New Journey", the conference featured more than 20 activities, including a main forum, thematic sub-forums on the technological applications of film and television production, sessions on investment and financing, a summit on film and television bases, lectures by famous artists and exhibitions on outstanding TV dramas.

A city renowned for its cultural and film and television industries, Xiamen is home to numerous shooting locations and studios and attracts more than 100 film and television crews every year. This year, the city issued new policies regarding project promotion, digital empowerment and industrial chains to boost the high-quality development of the film and television industry.

The Xiamen Film and Television Industry Service Center is considered a pioneer in China in launching a comprehensive platform that integrates services such as subsidies and studio rentals for State-owned TV crews.

Over the past five years, the number of enterprises and institutions in Xiamen's film and television industry grew at an annual average rate of 10.2 percent. As of March 2023, there were 2,350 film and television enterprises in the city that provide services such as filming, post-production and software development.
