Japanese delegation applauds Xiamen to bolster economic ties with China

From May 31 to June 2, a Japanese business delegation visited Xiamen to strengthen economic ties through investment conferences, talks, and industrial park tours. The visit showcased Xiamen's investment environment and industrial landscape, promoting opportunities for deeper bilateral cooperation.

Liao Huasheng, vice mayor of Xiamen, highlighted the city's remarkable economic zone achievements, openness, and innovation and invited Japanese businesses to invest and promote tourism. Kawai Gen, vice chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, praised Xiamen's rapid development and expressed plans to share their findings with Japanese companies.

In recognition of Xiamen's growing significance as a hub for China-Japan bilateral investments, Chen Min, director of Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce, highlighted the city's appeal as an attractive destination for business ventures between the two nations. Notably, Xiamen boasts the presence of major Japanese corporations such as Panasonic and Yamaha, solidifying its reputation as a hotspot for Japanese investments. The deepening economic ties between Xiamen and Japan have resulted in Japan emerging as Xiamen's fifth-largest trading partner and second-largest export market, underscoring the mutually beneficial nature of their trade relationship.

During the visit, delegates toured key industrial parks and companies to gain insight into investment policies and construction. The initiative aims to enhance exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Japanese firms, delivering mutual benefits and stronger collaborations.
