Xiamen promotes modern industrial system construction

Xiamen remains committed to building a "4+4+6" modern industrial system, achieving a total scale of 3 trillion yuan ($442.2 billion) for the four pillar industrial clusters, a total scale of 800 billion yuan for the four strategic emerging industries, and making significant progress in the six future industries by 2027.

The four pillar industry clusters refer to the electronic information industrial cluster, machinery and equipment industrial cluster, trade and logistics industrial cluster and the financial services industrial cluster.

The four strategic emerging industries include biomedicine, new materials, new energy as well as cultural tourism and creativity.

The six key industries consist of third-generation semiconductors, hydrogen energy and energy storage, genetics and biotechnology, future networks, frontier strategic materials as well as deep sea, air and space development.

In order to carefully shape the new advantages of industrial development, Xiamen has developed a roadmap for industrial development to identify leading enterprises in the industry and target enterprises for investment and industrial policies, as well as implement policies according to the map.

At the same time, Xiamen has coordinated and optimized its spatial planning layout of industries and formulated a spatial layout map of industries.

The "4+4+6" modern industrial system has shown promising results, and in 2022, the total scale of the four pillar industrial clusters exceeded 2 trillion yuan, and the total scale of the four strategic emerging industries reached 491.2 billion yuan.
