The digital business industry institute was officially unveiled at Xiamen Xingcai Vocational and Technical College on May 17.
The institute is designed as an industry-education integrated training base to assist industrial transformation and upgrading, and technological improvement.
The institute will explore a new cooperation mechanism between schools and enterprises to create a new talent cultivation and teaching mode.
Xiamen has formed a high-quality and sustainable cross-border e-commerce business environment in the province since it was approved as a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone in 2018.
The number of Xiamen local cross-border e-commerce sellers surpassed 4,000 by the end of 2021, and a number of enterprises were awarded as Xiamen's excellent foreign trade independent brands.
In addition, Xiamen cross-border e-commerce imports and exports doubled in 2021 from that in 2020.
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
