Xiamen's retail sales rake in $37.58b in Jan-Nov

Statistics showed that Xiamen in Fujian province generated 239.49 billion yuan ($37.58 billion) in the total volume of retail sales from January to November this year, up 14.6 percent year-on-year and 4.6 percentage points higher than the province's average.

In November alone, Xiamen's total volume of retail sales reached 24.97 billion yuan, up 6.3 percent year-on-year.

Statistics indicate that the subsidies released by the government helped boost consumption and the development of businesses.

From January to November, Xiamen's retail sales of consumer goods reached 215.61 billion yuan, up 14 percent year-on-year, while the city's catering revenue hit 23.88 billion yuan, which is an increase of 20.8 percent.

The municipal bureau of commerce has been offering subsidies to eligible businesses since September of this year. Therefore, the retail sales of enterprises above designated size reached 142.35 billion yuan in the January-to-November period, up 16.8 percent year-on-year.

The retail sales of textile and garment goods of enterprises above designated size jumped 41.1 percent year-on-year to 38.17 billion yuan while that of daily commodities increased 19.6 percent to 9.42 billion yuan, and that of oils and food stuffs reached 10.61 billion yuan during the same period.

The retail sales of automobile enterprises above designated size achieved 34.39 billion yuan in the same period, and that of the new-energy vehicles generated 3.18 billion yuan, accounting for 39.2 percent of the sector.
