Since businesses in Xiamen were encouraged to go digital, the online retail sales of the city in the January-to-October period reached 45.21 billion yuan, up 23.2 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, accounting for 28.8 percent of the province's total.

In addition, the catering service of Xiamen also increased as the municipal bureau of commerce offered subsidies to the sector.
