Xiamen in Fujian province was rated as a demonstration city for supply chain innovation and application in China, while four enterprises in the city were named as demonstration enterprises, according to a July 13 notice jointly released by eight government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce.

There are a total of 10 first-batch demonstration cities and 94 demonstration enterprises for supply chain innovation and application.

The Xiamen enterprises named as demonstration enterprises were Xiamen C&D Inc, Xiamen ITG Group Corp Ltd, Xiamen Xiangyu Group, and Linde Forklift Truck Corp Ltd.

Their development was bolstered and accelerated by the city's innovative efforts.

Cloud computing, big data, the internet of things, 5G, and other technologies have been utilized to build a public service platform for supply chains. The single-window processing of international trade has successfully integrated Xiamen government public services and industrial chains, an outstanding achievement made by the city.

Xiamen has also been striving to promote the establishment of a multi-channel and multi-level international supply chain system. The connectivity between domestic and international industrial chains have improved, further ensuring the safety and stability of supply chains. Ports have upgraded synchronously to provide “digital supervision” for the process.

The Administrative Committee of the Xiamen area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, China Logistics, and Xiamen University jointly established a supply chain science and innovation center. Its successful experience was considered to be worth popularizing by the Ministry of Commerce.

In the future, Xiamen will aim to build a resource allocation center, a technology innovation center, and a financial service center for supply chains.
