Xiamen to hold mobile e-sports expo

The first China Mobile e-Sports Game Industry Expo of Xiamen (CMEG) will take place in the city in Fujian province on Dec 8, according to a news conference held on June 28.

The expo will display products and equipment for mobile, client games and online games. It will also showcase intelligent robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, virtual reality applications, and hold a mobile gaming tournament and the CMEG Xiamen Classic.

During the expo, Chinese networking giants including Datang Network, China Telecom, China VR/AP Entertainment Industry, Mobile Game Entrepreneurs Alliance and China Mobile Electronics Industry Alliance will share a new generation of online games with attendees at a special forum.

The number of China's PC game users reached 484 million in 2016 while mobile game users reached 521 million. Mobile e-sports games have become a new communication channel for Chinese youths. The billion people user base offers great business value.

Xiamen is a leader in information and communication technology, animation, e-sports games, integrated circuits, the internet and other related industries. It has a strong industrial base for holding such an expo.
