Landscape Industry Expo to be held in Xiamen
The 2016 China (Xiamen) Landscape Industry Expo & Green Building Exhibition organised by the Landscape Ecology Academic Committee of the Architectural Society of China, Beijing Green Building Association and the Strait Herald Agency, will take place in the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Centre from November 18 to 20. Over 400 enterprises and 100 purchasers will attend the event.
The expo aims to become an international landscape industry procurement platform that extends the scope of participating enterprises to include companies working in town planning, construction & development as well as landscaping. It will include exhibition areas for Idea-King award-winning works, brand enterprises, landscape supporting facilities, urban ecological technology, landscape and gardening materials, building materials, a Taiwan expo and the International Biennial of Landscape Architecture.
There will be several additional events during the expo, such as the 6th International Conference on Residential Environment Planning and Design, the 6th Idea-King award ceremony, the 3rd International Fair for Residential Environment Trading Supply & Demand, the 4th Residential Environment Personnel & School-Enterprise Personnel Conference, the 2nd National Architectural Design & Innovation Technology Conference, the 2016 Residential Environment Industry Conference of New Techniques & New Materials, the 2016 Sponge City Construction & Management Forum and the roadshow of the 2nd International College Students Landscape Design Challenge 2016.
The 6th International Conference on Residential Environment Planning and Design is based on the theme of walls, inspired by ideas of ecological design in the residential environment industry. By the end of June, the organising committee of the conference had already invited 28 experts from 16 foreign countries as well as nearly 200 domestic experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, local scientific institutions, planning and design institutions, colleges and universities, etc.. Over 1,500 people are expected to attend the conference.
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
