Xiamen exports to Maritime Silk Road countries soar in 2015

Exports from Xiamen to countries along the Maritime Silk Road grew rapidly in 2015 after benefitting from China's Belt and Road Initiative.

Exports to 36 Maritime Silk Road nations totaled $14 billion in 2015, accounting for a 10.1 percent increase compared to the previous year and 26.2 percent of the total amount of exports from the city.

Textile and clothing product exports to Maritime Silk Road nations increased to a value of $5.32 billion, growing 25 percent from 2014.

High-tech products grew more competitive and contributed $1.58 billion to the city's export volume, rising 19.5 percent annually.
