Xiamen promotes tourism in Europe
The Xiamen tourism information center was recently established in Germany. The opening of the information center marks the start of a new round of promotional events in Europe.
The Xiamen Tourism Bureau cooperated with Imagetrans GmbH to set up the center. Through the center, the Xiamen Tourism Bureau will launch a series of promotional events to attract more European tourists to Xiamen.
In France, a delegation from the Xiamen Tourism Bureau visited Mr. Denis Zanon, Director of Nice Tourism, and Mr. Jacques Dejeandile, deputy mayor of Nice. This May, a French TV crew led by Mr. Jacques launched an eight-day visit to Xiamen and shot a tourism documentary called "French Life in Xiamen.” The documentary was broadcast on French National TV-II.
In London, the delegation held a promotional event with the China-Britain Business Council. The event gave the European visitors a glimpse of traditional tourism highlights in Xiamen and Fujian, including Fujian Tulou (Hakka earthen buildings), Kungfu tea ceremony, and new tourism products such as hotsprings, honeymoon travel, yachting and sailing.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
