Xiamen promotes construction of Chongqing-Changsha-Xiamen HSR
Cities along the Chongqing-Changsha-Xiamen High-speed Railway are actively promoting the construction of the railway line to make it enter the mid-and-long term plan of the National Railway Network, according to the Xiamen Development and Reform Commission.
The Xiamen-Changsha section of the railway will have a length of 800 kilometers and will feature a passenger-dedicated line with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The feasibility study of the Fuzhou-Xiamen High-speed Railway has been approved and the key part of the project is expected to be put into construction by the end of 2015. Beside, the Hefei-Fuzhou Railway is expected to be put into service on July 1, which will further promote Xiamen's position in the national railway network.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
