S.Korea's Goyang to join 2015 CIFIT
A delegation from the South Korean Goyang Young Entrepreneur Association (GYEA) visited the Xiamen Municipal Conference and Exhibition Bureau (XMCEB) in Fujian province on April 21.
Qiu Guoyue, deputy director of XMCEB met with Cao Yingxu, head of GYEA to discuss exchanges in trade and culture, and cooperation in the conference and exhibition industry.
Qiu hoped that Goyang, one of the world top 10 vital cities assessed by the United Nations, would attend the 19th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen from Sep 8 to 11 as a “Star City.”
Cao said GYEA would make efforts to facilitate the cooperation between Xiamen and Goyang in the CIFIT. The two cities, which have a complementary economic system and share a similar cultural and living environment, are expected to gain more cooperation opportunities.
As the most developed area for floricultural industry in South Korea, Goyang covers an area of 267,310 square meters and accommodates 924,000 people. It is home to 43,245 enterprises and has held the World Flower Expo for 10 years.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
