Xiamen improves commodity circulation system

Xiamen, Fujian province, managed to improve its commodity circulation system in 2014.

The city had over 20,000 registered e-commerce enterprises, according to data in 2014. Small-and-medium-sized enterprises achieved online sales amounting to 5.45 billion yuan ($870 million), increasing 50.1 percent compared to 2013.

The city improved its urban mechanized distribution system, which now covers over 60-percent of urban areas and serves over 1.4 million people.

Cold chain logistics also developed fast in 2014, with a storage capacity for fresh and frozen food exceeding 200 thousand tons.

The franchise businesses have also expanded in Xiamen, with 500 new chain stores opening in 2014. Among them, Jianfu has the largest amount of convenience chain stores in Fujian.
