Cars sell well in Xiamen around Spring Festival

Car sales in Xiamen experienced a boost during the Spring Festival, which this year fell on Feb 19.

Automobile consumption reached to over 2 billion yuan ($319 million) from Jan 27 to Feb 27 in Xiamen, Fujian province, according to data from Xiamen Municipal Office of State Administration of Taxation.

A total of 10,925 automobiles completed their tax declaration procedures during the month, resulting in a vehicle purchase tax of 170 million yuan. The number does not include tax-exempted automobiles, buses, cars for returnees and new energy cars.

The number of automobiles sold increased by 19.6 percent and 20.6 percent more automobiles were taxed compared to same period in 2014.
