Richest man in Fujian

Lin Wenjing, the founder of the Rongqiao Group, has been declared Fujian province's ricjhest man by the Hurun Global Rich List for 2015, which came out on Feb 3, from the Hurun Research Institute.

It ranked 2,089 billionaires around the world and found 22 of them from or living in Fujian, and five more than last year. Of the 22, 10 are from Fuzhou, seven from Xiamen, four from Quanzhou and one from Nanping.

Lin has an estimated worth of 24.5 billion yuan ($4 billion) and climbed the global ladder 132 spots to 276th. Coming in second, with 22.5 billion yuan, is Chen Fashu, from the Newhuadu Group, at 295th place globally.

Topping the mainland list, with 160 billion yuan, is Li Hejun, board chairman and CEO of the Hanergy Holdings Group, at 28th place in the world.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, as usual, took the No.1 global slot, with a net worth of 520 billion yuan, up 25 percent from the previous year.
