Xiamen's foreign trade hits RMB 1.90 trillion in 2014
According to statistics released by Xiamen Customs, the total foreign trade value of Fujian reached RMB1.90 trillion in 2014, up 3.7% compared with the same period of the previous year. Among which, Xiamen’s foreign trade value reached RMB 513.25 billion, down 1.7% year on year, accounting for 47.1% of the general import & export value of the province.
The value of Xiamen’s imports in 2014 was RMB 186.67 billion, down 5.2% compared with the same period of the previous year. Xiamen’s exports in 2014 totaled RMB 326.58 billion, up 0.5% year on year.
It is notable that Xiamen’s private companies realized a rapid growth in foreign trade in 2014, with the total value reaching RMB 211.66 billion, up 2.3% year on year. Among which, the import value reached RMB 48.62 billion, up 12.8% year on year, accounting for 26% of the entire import value of the city.
