Zhang said the CIFIT will focus on strengthening cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The CIFIT will have an exhibition area for CEE countries to show their investment conditions, major industries, cooperative projects and featured products.

Chinese and CEE officials will hold three meetings focusing on promotion of investment opportunities in CEE, ways to boost communication for investment promotion organizations, and cooperative projects between China and CEE. Officials will discuss project opportunities in several major fields such as infrastructure, energy construction, resource exploitation, information and communication industries.

More than 370 foreign business groups from 78 countries and regions have registered for the event. Nearly 400 American enterprises are slated to attend.
