Xiamen's funds to boost imports tops 10 m yuan

In accordance with Xiamen government's support policies to promote foreign trade, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Municipal Finance Bureau of Xiamen City provided support funds for imports to 68 companies in the city.

The amount in 2013 was 12.3 million yuan, a substantial increase of 57 percent from the previous year.

This is the first time the fund topped 10 million since the supportive policies to encourage imports was first implemented in 2007.

Among the companies rewarded, 51 companies got 8.4 million yuan for their bulk commodity imports in 2013; 12 companies received 1.6 million yuan for their import of consumer goods; and five others was given 2.3 million yuan to subsidize their credit insurance premiums for domestic trade and credit investigation expenses.

Since 2007, Xiamen has honored import support funds, and 271 companies have benefited from a total of 44.6 million yuan in import subsidies.
