A meeting for Spring Bud Project held in Tongwei of Gansu
A meeting is held in No.1 Senior Middle School of Tongwei county, Northwest China's Gansu province, on Feb 9, to promote the implementation of the "Spring Bud Project - Dream of the Future Action" initiative.
A meeting for the "Spring Bud Project - Dream of the Future Action" initiative was held at No.1 Senior Middle School of Tongwei county, Northwest China's Gansu province, on Feb 9.
In her speech at the gathering, Zhang Yanhong, secretary-general of the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), conveyed her sincere greetings and best wishes to schooling girls on behalf of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the CCTF, and read them a letter by a charity-minded individual surnamed Liu from South China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Three female recipients of the Spring Bud Project from Tongwei said that the charity initiative has provided them with material support and encouraged them to be self-reliant, seek benevolence and strive for a better future. They added that they will bear in mind the country's expectations of them, remain grateful for their social assistance, and foster noble characters, conduct sound academic studies and concrete actions in return for the love and care of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the government and people from all walks of life.
Several other teenage recipients of the Spring Bud Program talked about their participation in a story-sharing activity held by the charity initiative in Beijing in 2019, and their own personal growth over the past three years.
A girl from Tonghe Junior Middle School said that the activity has made her more optimistic and confident and she will strive for a bright future through her own independent efforts. Meanwhile, local Spring Bud girls also exhibited their calligraphy and painting works.
Jing Maomao, a representative of local high school teachers, said that he and all other teachers will endeavor to become a guide for children's growth, a guardian for children's rights and interests, and a builder for children's future, and do the utmost to promote their all-round growth.
Wang Fang, a first-class inspector from the Gansu Women's Federation, and Wen Weidong, deputy secretary of the Dingxi Municipal Committee of the CPC, expressed their thanks to the ACWF and the CCTF for their implementation of the Spring Bud Project in the province.
Attending officials presented scholarship and parcels of daily necessities to the Spring Bud girls.
Those in attendance of the event also included Zhu Dongyun, deputy secretary-general of the CCTF, and Xie Zhanwu, Party secretary of Tongwei.
