On Oct 28, Ge Xiaoyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), addressed the parallel forum themed on "Financial Risk Prevention and Collaborative Governance in the Digital-Intelligent Era" at the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2025.
Ge emphasized that procuratorial organs have positioned the prevention and resolution of financial risks as a key task during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) and have been comprehensively performing their legal supervision duties to effectively serve and safeguard high-quality development in the financial sector.
Ge noted that, in the face of new trends and challenges in financial crimes amid the surging tide of digitalization, procuratorial organs will thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, better coordinate development and security priorities, and lawfully punish and prevent financial crimes disguised as technological innovations.
Efforts will be made to advance the integrated pursuit of fugitive repatriation and asset recovery, equally protect all types of financial market entities, collaborate with relevant authorities to promote governance at the source of financial crimes, and strengthen society-wide awareness of financial rule of law, Ge added.
The Financial Street Forum, founded in 2012, has seen the involvement of procuratorial organs in Beijing in co-hosting related activities for the third consecutive year since 2023. Leading officials from the SPP, the Beijing Municipal Government, and the Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate attended and delivered speeches at the forum. Experts and scholars from China, Vietnam, Italy, and Singapore gathered to exchange views on financial risk prevention and control.
