China-Japan-South Korea IP heads discuss cooperation in Shanghai
The 24th Trilateral Intellectual Property Offices Heads Meeting was recently held in Shanghai, bringing together IP heads from China, Japan, and South Korea to discuss cooperation.
China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) Commissioner Shen Changyu, Japan Patent Office (JPO) Commissioner Ono Yota, and Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) Commissioner Kim Wan Ki attended the meeting and delivered remarks.
The three parties shared updates on the latest IP developments in their respective countries, reviewed the progress of trilateral and bilateral cooperation projects over the past year, and discussed future collaboration plans.
Key outcomes included the signing of meeting minutes and an updated Memorandum of Understanding on IP information data exchange between China and South Korea.
Shen emphasized the significance of IP cooperation among China, Japan, and South Korea as an integral part of trilateral collaboration. Over the years, CNIPA has established friendly and effective cooperation with JPO and KIPO, achieving substantial results within both trilateral and bilateral frameworks. He expressed hopes for expanding cooperation areas and enhancing cooperation levels to support regional innovation and global progress.
Yota and Kim praised the past year's cooperation with CNIPA and expressed eagerness to strengthen trilateral and bilateral IP collaboration and enhance friendly exchanges in technology, economy, and culture.
During the meeting, the trilateral heads agreed on measures to implement the "10 Year Vision for Trilateral IP Cooperation", and reached a consensus on future cooperation directions. They also decided that next year's meeting would be hosted by JPO.
