The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have announced the inclusion of three new Shanghai-based institutions in the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC) initiative.

The selected institutions are the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-tech Park Innovation Center, Shanghai Health Development Research Center, and Shanghai International Intellectual Property Operation Management Co Ltd.

Falling under the WIPO Development Agenda, the TISC program aims to enhance the technical information retrieval capabilities of intellectual property users in China, helping them stay updated on industry trends and new technologies. The initiative is being promoted by WIPO and CNIPA, with a one-year preparation period. Upon successful evaluation, these institutions will be officially recognized as TISC hosting centers.

Shanghai currently hosts eight TISCs that have made major contributions to the city's strategic industries, key industrial upgrades, and major scientific research projects. The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration will support the three new TISC institutions during their preparation year to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
