The sub-forum of the 21st Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum, focusing on innovation research powered by IP data, took place at Tongji University in Shanghai on Dec 7.
Yu Chen, deputy director-general of the Shanghai IP Administration, highlighted the opportunities and challenges presented by the digital economy's rapid growth, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in IP-related work.
He noted the administration's efforts to enhance IP information services and data governance, aiming to improve administrative efficiency and public services through information technology.
Wu Guangming, deputy Party secretary of Tongji University, discussed Tongji University's commitment to digital intelligence, green development, and integration, stressing the forum's significance in advancing the university's interdisciplinary approach and talent cultivation.
The forum featured thematic speeches from various experts. Professor Dietmar Harhoff from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition spoke about "Inventors' Returns and Mobility", analyzing the impact of inventor mobility on innovation returns.
In addition, experts from the University of Tokyo, University of Cambridge, and Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property shared their research findings, while young scholars from Chinese top universities participated in a roundtable discussion on the application and prospects of IP data in research and industry.
