The Shanghai Intellectual Property Protection Center Lin-gang Special Area Sub-center was inaugurated on Oct 30, marking a significant step forward in enhancing IP protection in the area.
The new sub-center will offer patent pre-examination support, rapid rights protection, collaborative protection, and comprehensive services. It also integrates existing functions like IP-related application acceptance.
The establishment of several key institutions within the sub-center, including a Patent Commissioner Service Station, IP Comprehensive Analysis Base, IP Legal Service Guarantee Base, IP Appraisal Service Station, and IP Teaching and Research Center, has been announced. These institutions are intended to collaboratively offer high-level, professional services to innovators in the Lin-gang Special Area.
At the inauguration ceremony, Rui Wenbiao, director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, said the administration will collaborate with the Lin-gang Special Area Management Committee to improve protection mechanisms, implement high-level institutional opening tasks, and enhance the IP service system.
He also expressed his expectations that the center will help attract more high-level IP service institutions and strengthen cross-regional and cross-departmental IP protection coordination.
During the event, the Lin-gang Special Area released several key IP protection mechanisms, especially support for industries like integrated circuits, AI, and new energy vehicles. The Lin-gang Special Area IP Public Professional Service Platform was also launched.
