Shanghai's two cases selected as exemplary in IP powerhouse construction
Recently, the China National Inter-Ministerial Conference Office for the Construction of an IP Powerhouse Nation selected 30 innovative and effective cases with significant potential for replication and promotion nationwide for the third batch of exemplary cases in IP powerhouse construction.
Two selected cases were from Shanghai, highlighting the city's advancements in enhancing the IP public service system, deepening talent cultivation, and establishing a high-standard international IP protection hub.
Case I: Shanghai Deepens World Bank Business Environment Assessment Reform to Create a First-Class IP Business Environment
Shanghai has advanced reforms in the IP sector in alignment with the World Bank's business environment assessment. The city has transformed excellent reform practices into regulatory policies by innovating local institutional designs.
An integrated service system with "one-stop" comprehensive service windows and platforms has been constructed. A team of IP business environment experience officers has been formed to gather feedback from market and innovation entities, introducing timely reform measures to create a first-class IP business environment.
Case II: Shanghai University Deepens Interdisciplinary Integration to Cultivate Urgently Needed Patent Practitioners
Shanghai University has implemented a specialized talent cultivation plan for IP, integrating industry and education and collaborating with enterprises. The university conducts interdisciplinary and customized training programs for patent agents, engineers, and lawyers.
Practical patent skills training is embedded into the education of science, engineering, and law master's students, achieving new interdisciplinary integration and expanding paths for "industry-education integration and early involvement," thereby cultivating professional, high-end, and urgently needed patent practitioners.
