Shanghai IP Administration hosts WIPO Academy for working exchange

On Sept 6, Martha Chikowore, acting head of the Academic Institutions and Executive Program at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy, visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration. She was welcomed by Deputy Director General Yu Chen, with whom she engaged in a productive working exchange meeting.

The exchange highlighted a strong commitment to further cooperation in intellectual property education and talent development.

Yu provided an update on Shanghai's recent efforts to cultivate more intellectual property talent. He expressed gratitude for WIPO Academy's support in establishing the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property (SICIP).

Yu also emphasized the city's commitment to implementing agreements with WIPO Academy, supporting deeper collaboration between Tongji University and WIPO Academy, and continually improving the educational standards of the SICIP to cultivate high-level international IP talent.

Chikowore praised Shanghai's achievements in internationalizing intellectual property talent cultivation and commended the support provided by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration. She offered her assurances that WIPO Academy would continue to support Shanghai's efforts in this area.
