The 10th China Brand Economy (Shanghai) Forum was staged in East China's Shanghai on May 10 – an important part of the China Brand Day event that was held on May 10-14 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

Under the theme Chinese Brands, Global Positioning, a highlight of the forum was the Brand Innovation and Development session with Xing Dongsheng, executive director of the Shanghai Brand Development Research Center, sharing his insights.

Xing articulated the need for Shanghai to embark on a new path of high-quality development by leveraging its unique characteristics.

He proposed a holistic approach to brand financing services – including brand pledges and credit assessments – to support the growth of businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

The China Brand Day event served as a showcase for the innovative progress of local brands. Representatives from M&G Shop, a subsidiary of Shanghai M&G Stationery, talked about its ventures in the development of cultural and creative goods.

Staff from Shanghai Marie Painting Materials, a century-old Shanghai painting materials brand, discussed its latest innovations in pigments. In addition, the Shanghai Robot Industry Association – in cooperation with top robotics companies such as Jaka – made a high-profile appearance at the China Brand Expo.
