Shanghai IP official visits EU IP office

A delegation from the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), led by Deputy Director General Yu Chen, visited the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on July 7 and held talks with the Boards of Appeal.

The Boards of Appeal is an independent body that handles disputes over EU trademarks and designs.

Yu Chen expressed his gratitude for the invitation and briefed the Boards of Appeal on SIPA's work and IP protection in Shanghai. He also reviewed the previous cooperation between the two sides.

Gordon Humphreys, chairperson of the First and Third Boards of Appeal, welcomed the delegation and explained the role of the Boards of Appeal. He also exchanged views with the delegation on the IP situation of Chinese enterprises in Europe.

Kirsten Bauch, head of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Service International Cooperation Department, and other staff from the EUIPO also attended the meeting.
