With its theme of "Leveraging IP commercialization services and fueling high-quality industrial development", the forum was organized by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA.
At the forum, Huang Yongping, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai municipal government, said his city saw the construction of a metropolis with strong intellectual property or IP as an important step and that it would continue to leverage its IP commercialization services.
SIPA Deputy Director General Wei Lan presented prizes to the winning teams in Shanghai's first practical skills competition for IP, which ended in October.
Lei Xiaoyun, director general of the IP utilization and promotion department of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, said via video that she hoped Shanghai would make the competition a springboard for promoting a high-quality, efficient and diversified IP services sector.
In addition, a roundtable discussion on new trends in IP commercialization under the new situation was held during the forum.
The event attracted over 500 participants on-site and online. It was viewed as not only providing an important platform for guests to communicate and exchange ideas, but also acted as an influential overseas window for China's IP industry.
