Shanghai departments sign up for industrial tech innovation

The Shanghai Industrial Technology Innovation Conference was held in the city of Shanghai in East China on July 21.

Zhang Wei, vice-mayor of Shanghai, attended the conference – pointing out that innovation was the primary driving force for development and a strong support for building a modern economy.

He said that Shanghai would deploy new drivers for the industrial economy and galvanize it to promote the in-depth integration of industrial and innovation supply chains.

At the conference, Wu Jincheng, director general of the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatization and Rui Wenbiao, director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This was about boosting intellectual property work and promoting industrial innovation and development.

The agreement was signed to promote the city's independent innovation capacity for economic informatization and its capabilities in IP creation, applications, protection and management. This will be done by strengthening cooperation between government departments and businesses.

The conference also included an awards ceremony for national enterprise technology centers and  national technological innovation demonstration enterprises.
