Shanghai intl IP college holds graduation ceremony

The Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, or SICIP – which is based in East China's Shanghai – on July 7 held a graduation ceremony for its 2022 graduates.

The graduation ceremony for the fifth WIPO-Tongji Master's Degree Program in Intellectual Property Law and the Chinese Government Belt and Road Master's Program in Intellectual Property was held at the same time.

During the ceremony, Bai Guangqing, director of the cooperation division of the China National Intellectual Property Administration or CNIPA, congratulated the graduates via video link. He urged them to contribute to mutual understanding and friendly cooperation in international IP in the future.

Joe Bradley, head of the Academic Institutions Program at WIPO, also participated in the ceremony via video link. He thanked CNIPA, the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai municipal government, as well as the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration for their support.

Bradley advised the graduates to leverage their talent in regional, national and global IP and economic development.

Mao Lijuan, deputy director general of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Yu Chen, deputy director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, also participated in the ceremony online.

Mao pointed out that SICIP provided strong support for talent cultivation and in the cause of international cooperation for IP in the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Yu recognized the important contribution of SICIP to the internationalization and interdisciplinary training of talent and for the promotion of international exchanges and cooperation in the field of IP.
