Course on WIPO service system held in Shanghai
A training course on the service system of the World Intellectual Property Organization, or WIPO, was held in the city of Shanghai, in East China, on Nov 24.
The course was organized by the WIPO Office in China and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA.
Liu Hua, director of the WIPO Office in China, delivered a speech via video link. She fully affirmed the long-term cooperation between WIPO and Shanghai and thanked the Shanghai municipal authorities for their support and promotion of WIPO's service system – including the alternative dispute resolution, or the ADR services system, and the Madrid System.
The WIPO Office in China would continue to promote the WIPO service system in Shanghai and encourage and help local small and medium-sized enterprises to learn and make good use of the service system, she said.
Yu Chen, deputy director general of SIPA, noted during his speech that the WIPO service system training course this year was the seventh instance of cooperation between the WIPO Office in China and SIPA to promote the WIPO service system in Shanghai. This showed the long-term friendly and cooperative relationship between the two sides, Yu added.
The training course was held online and attracted nearly 200 students from enterprises, IP service institutions, IP research institutions and universities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
