The Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference Office recently issued a notice that it was implementing a 100-day action plan for intellectual property protection to cover the 4th China International Import Expo, or CIIE.

Under the plan – which will run from Aug 1 to Nov 10 – the city of Shanghai in East China will move to establish a market environment, a consumer environment and a service environment with extensive and comprehensive IP protection for exhibitors and consumers at home and abroad.

The courts and procuratorial organs in Shanghai will make full use of the advantages of the three-in-one judicial mechanism for civil, criminal and administrative adjudication of IP rights so as to strengthen its judicial protection of IP.

Following the 100-day protection plan, public security organs will strictly crack down on all kinds of IP criminal activities.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA, will take the lead and join hands with the market supervision, urban management, culture and other departments to strengthen cooperation on IP protection.

They will dispatch law enforcement and service personnel in the areas of patents, trademark, copyright and geographical indications of origin to provide on-site protection services at the CIIE venue.
