Japanese trade body delegation visits SIPA in Shanghai

Chen Zhong, deputy director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, received a delegation from the Beijing office of the Japan External Trade Organization – or JETRO – at SIPA in Shanghai city on April 14.
Chen briefly reviewed communications between the two sides at a meeting and gave a presentation on the main functions of SIPA, as well as intellectual property or IP protection work and relevant policies being conducted in Shanghai.
Eiichi Yamamoto, director of the IP department of JETRO in Beijing, gave an introduction on the IP work of JETRO. He praised the achievements made by Shanghai in IP and hoped to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with SIPA in the future.
The two sides also exchanged views on the protection of IP rights of Japanese enterprises in Shanghai and on mediation in IP disputes.
