SIPA, Lin-gang Special Area seek more cooperation

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA, and the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, signed a cooperative agreement on Dec 17 to promote the development of intellectual property in the Lin-gang Special Area.

Under the agreement, the two sides will carry out comprehensive exchanges and cooperation to support the development of IP-related work in the area and make full use of IP in leading industrial development there.

Rui Wenbiao, the director general of SIPA, told the signing ceremony that the Lin-gang Special Area is an important carrier for Shanghai's reforms, opening up and innovative development, as well as an important strategic space for Shanghai's future development.

"We need to link the whole chain of IP creation, applications, protection, management and services in Lin-gang," Rui said.

Inaugurated at the signing ceremony were the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Intellectual Property Comprehensive Service Window and the China (Shanghai) Intellectual Property Rights Protection Assistance Center Lin-gang Special Area Sub-Center.
