National copyright base lands in Pudong
Approved by the National Copyright Administration, the National Copyright Innovation and Development Base (Pudong, Shanghai) was officially launched in the Pudong New Area of East China's megacity of Shanghai recently.
Official data showed that the cultural and creative industry has become one of the pillar industries of Pudong's economic and social development.
In 2019, the cultural and creative industry in Pudong generated revenue of 335.1 billion yuan ($51.34 billion). The added value of the cultural and creative industries reached 109.78 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 12.3 percent.
The new copyright center in Pudong will resolve current registration bottlenecks, expand the copyright registration service and meet the needs of the new Copyright Service Center of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which began operating in September last year.
With the support of the Shanghai Municipal Copyright Bureau, the Copyright Service Center has provided copyright consultation services to more than 1,000 market subjects and right holders since its operation and registered copyright works for more than 100 enterprises in Pudong.
The registration process has been shortened from 30 working days to 7 working days and 34,000 pieces of applications have been fast-track registered.
