French intellectual property official visits Shanghai body

Julie Herve, the intellectual property counsellor at the embassy of France in China, on Nov 6 visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, or SIPA, in the city of Shanghai in East China.
Zhang Yongzhong, deputy director general of SIPA, received the official and they had talks on the development and protection of intellectual property, or IP, between China and France.
Zhang presented a briefing on recent progress Shanghai has made in IP protection and development, as well as the IP service and protection work of the third China International Import Expo.
Herve spoke highly of the city's efforts in IP and said many French multinational companies have made Shanghai their first choice for investment and business, while IP protection was a focus of their attention.
She also explained the main responsibilities of the National Institute of Industrial Property in France.
