Chenshan Botanical Garden wins prize in micro-video contest

The micro video Secrets of Carnivorous Plants created by Chenshan Botanical Garden won the excellence award in 2017 Chinese forestry science micro video competition.

Secrets of Carnivorous Plants is a science micro video meticulously designed by Chenshan science publicity team and interpreted via a variety of stories regarding exotic carnivorous plants.

The video introduces five kinds of carnivorous plants including nepenthes, pitcher plant, butterwort, and flytrap, as well as their mystical survival skills with concise language, high-definition images, and fluent narration interpreting their daily lives and interesting stories.

According to statistics from World Conservation Union, half of the insectivorous plants are threatened to be extinct due to the uncivilized behaviors such as deforestation and environment pollution.

Sponsored by the Chinese Society of Forestry, the contest aims to appeal everyone to love the earth, and work together protect our forest environment.
