The theme parks Shanghai Happy Valley and Playa Maya Water Park are putting all their efforts into attracting young students born after 1995 during the summer vacation.

The parks in Shanghai's Sheshan district have launched a range of promotions aimed at getting more millennials through their doors, including special graduation ceremony events, discounts for high school graduates and graduation carnivals.

Shanghai Happy Valley is also organizing a series of special events for the coming months that cater for a young, novelty-seeking audience, such as an international magic festival and Halloween festival.

The attraction has for years focused on importing the best entertainment facilities from abroad to attract young thrill-seekers. The Diving Coaster, China's highest roller coaster, was introduced from the US and Switzerland, while the Wooden Coaster-Fireball, the country's first wooden ride, was also built using overseas technology.

The Playa Maya Water Park also offers visitors numerous exciting opportunities for amusement, such as a water turbo drop ride, a free-fall water slide and a water roller coaster.
