Recently, the State Council included Shanghai Songjiang district into model districts and regions to highlight the great progress it made in promoting the structural reform of the supply front, creativity, and social welfare sectors, and will give funds as favor for their important projects.

Songjiang district, situated southwest of downtown Shanghai, is home to Asia’s top telescope.

Towering over Shanghai Sheshan Observatory Workstation, Songjiang district, the Shanghai 65m Radio Telescope, or Tianma, is one of the world’s biggest and most powerful telescopes.
