The credentials of tourism in Sheshan town have been boosted after receiving national recognition for its picturesque scenery and well-preserved environment.

Only three towns in Shanghai have been honored as national "most livable villages" on the list released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development this month, and Sheshan is the only one in the Songjiang district.

Sheshan town, its name derived from Sheshan Mountain, is home to a rich variety of natural scenic areas.

Located in southwest Shanghai, Sheshan is home to the only national-level tourist resort in Shanghai, boasting abundant natural resources, entertainment and convenient transportation. The resort has now become a comprehensive enterprise, catering to forest tourism and landscaping.
