World's top golfers set to tee-off at Sheshan

Sheshan will host the HSBC Champions of the 12th World Golf Championships (WGC) from Oct 27 to 30.

It is the only tournament of the 2016 WGC that will take place away from the USA, and is considered as 'Asia's Major'.

Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) sponsors the tournament again this year held at Shanghai Sheshan International Golf Club.

The defending champion, Russell Knox from Scotland, who won the championship at Sheshan in 2015 will attend this year's contest. The 2015 HSBC Champions was the first championship that Russell won after competing in the PGA Tour for four consecutive seasons.

Current US Open Champion and World No 2, American Dustin Johnson has also confirmed that he will return to Shanghai to challenge for a second WGC-HSBC title after his win at Sheshan in 2013.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, World No 3 and four-time Major winner, will also be vying for his first WGC-HSBC Champions at Sheshan this year.

Many other prestigious golfers will compete, including the 2016 Masters Champion, England’s Danny Willett; 2016 US PGA Championship winner, American Jimmy Walker; 2016 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship winner, American Rickie Fowler; two-time US Masters Champion and winner of the 2014 WGC-HSBC Champions, American Bubba Watson and 2016 Open Champion, Swedish Henrik Stenson.Sheshan will also offer great views for everyone to watch their favorite golfers.
