Art auction generates 122,585 yuan for children's charity

A charity auction was held to mark the end of the Sheshan International Artist Summer Camp on July 22, where artworks created by young campers and teachers were sold off for charity.

The auction, held at the Yuehu Art Museum, generated 122,585 yuan ($18,400) to go towards the Shanghai Children's health Foundation, a charity dedicated to children's healthcare.

Two Spanish artists who taught painting classes during the month-long created a work entitled "Liang Zhu" which was donated to the auction. The painting depicts tragic Chinese love story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. Spanish illustrator Sonia Alins also donated two of her works to the auction, which were sold for 50,000 yuan ($7,485).
