May to July

The Shanghai Astronomical Museum at the top of West Sheshan Mountain has launched a photography exhibition on May 1, featuring 38 works depicting the beauty of the stars at night.

The exhibition includes "The World at Night" by Chinese adventure traveler Kidd, "Galaxy above Yamdrok Lake" by photographer Dai Jianfeng, and "Surrounded with Starry Sky" by visualization specialist Hua Jiajun.

The starry sky show serves as part of a series on astronomical science and art which started in January. It will last to the end of June and will be open every day from 8.30 to 16.30. Visitors are able enter the exhibition with a ticket from the Shanghai Astronomical Museum. The standard ticket price is 12 yuan ($2) and the student price is 8 yuan per person.

Sheshan Observatory on the top of West Sheshan Mountain is one of the top five astronomical research centers in China. It is also China's only joint monitoring institution participating in international earth rotation and earth satellite tracking by applying high astronomical technologies.
