It's good news for Shanghai petrol heads as the 5-hour Tianma Endurance race has announced that it will be adding an amateur racing category at the event to be held on June 11.

This year's race which takes place at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit (STC) is the second race of its kind on Shanghai's motoring calendar.

The amateur group does not require pro racing licenses and racers over 18 years old, with valid driving licenses and no medical issues will be able to take part.

Beside the amateur endurance race, 5-Star Sports Radio FM94.0 of SMG (Shanghai Media Group) is holding an event entitled "Tianma Night" after the race, featuring professional driving lessons, track time, a barbecue in the newly-built grandstand.
