Nearly 200 teams from Shanghai will compete through two rounds of contest to earn the chance to participate in the finals to be held in late July, where thousands of teachers and students will work with each other to dig deep into this year's topic – the who, what, when, where and how the theme of "Guanxi : Relationship in Nature" is reflected in the natural world.

Global Natural History Day, launched by the Global Health & Education Foundation, serves as the only international natural science exchange platform in China. It provides a wonderful learning experience that takes students out of the classroom to explore the wonders of the natural world.

For five years since its foundation, the event has received great popularity and has been included as a compulsory activity in many schools. This year, participants put forward various projects assuming roles of scientist, historian, investigator and problem-solver. Many youth science enthusiasts enjoyed the journey where they shared their interests, build leadership skills, work with experts and even connect with fellow students around the world.

This year was the second time that Chenshan Botanical Garden co-hosted the event, playing a critical role in promoting youth natural science education.
