The Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort has just won the annual award for national science popularization education and informatization construction in April.
Since its opening in 2010, the garden has taken advantage of its abundant natural resources to launch numerous science popularization activities. In 2015, the garden saw nearly 20,000 visitors taking part in 96 activities exploring natural secrets and local culture.
The garden has also made great achievements in informatization construction. In 2015, more than 200 reports on the garden covered mainstream media including newspapers, TV and radios. Its official website saw 250,000 hits for the whole year, with 2,000 micro blogs released and followers reaching 120,000. Its WeChat account has 50,000 followers coming top in the city's 40 A-level scenic spots.
The Chenshan Botanical Garden has received many domestic and foreign visitors since its opening and has become a window for Shanghai and its local botanical technology and culture.
