Sheshan attracts 170,000 visitors during Qingming Festival

During the three-day Qingming Festival, Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort welcomed as many as 174,300 visitors, despite the rainy weather, yielding 8.84 million yuan ($1.37 million) in revenue, up 82 and 18 percent respectively from 2015.

As a typical spring event for Shanghai residents, the bamboo shoots cultural festival at Tianma Mountain Garden attracted 97,400 visitors, up 85 percent.

Pink, snow-white and rose begonias as well as tulips were in full-bloom at Chenshan Botanical Garden as 37,700 visitors enjoyed the spring fragrances, up 41.5 percent.

The Shanghai Happy Valley's spring outing activities featured windmill flowers, cute animals, botanical plants, a balloon carnival and more than 100 rides, brightened up the holiday, with 17,400 visitors arriving for various events, up 22 percent.

The Sheshan Forest Hotel at Sheshan National Forest Park cooked-up more than 100 kinds of bamboo shoots gourmet dishes adding distinctive taste to the bamboo shoots cultural festival, with an 80 percent in room occupancy rate. The Le Meridien She Shan Shanghai Hotel even had 90 percent in that category.
