The chill-proof cherry blossom features gorgeous pink flowers, similar in appearance to the lotus flower. Originated from Shizuoka-ken, Japan, it is the earliest blooming cherry blossom native to four Japanese islands, namely Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu.

As the earliest blooming cherry blossoms in Shanghai as well, it has now entered full bloom.

The cherry blossom avenue runs for 550 meters, on both sides of which Kawazu cherry blossoms grow creating an archway.

Visitors can now visit the garden and enjoy Kawazu cherry blossoms as well as other blooming cherry blossoms including Cerasus campanulata and Cerasus discoidea.
